Service Work
Altar Guild
Members of the Altar Guild consider themselves “stagehands in the house of God.” Members of the team take posts behind the scenes to do the staging for the church’s worship. Each member will dedicate herself to God, volunteering her abilities be preparing for the service in a manner that will glorify and be pleasing to God. Each Saturday morning, a team of one or two will dust the altar, check the candles, place the flowers on the altar and prepare Holy Communion for each service. On Sunday, the team assists with the cleaning and refilling of communion chalices and trays as needed for the service.
We currently have four communion teams who serve every fourth month. The flower committee delivers altar flowers to a shut-in each Sunday, if the flowers are not picked up by the donor. The altar guild also sets up flowers for Easter and Christmas and delivers the flowers to shut-ins after the holiday.
Talents required: a willingness to give of your time to serve the Lord.
Time Commitment: One hour on Saturday and Sunday every fourth month.
