Sports Camp 2008

Grace Lutheran Preschool

Our preschool is for ages 3, 4 and 5 year olds. The goal of our ministry to teach children about God and to prepare them for kindergarten. The four-year old classes meet on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings and Tuesday,

Sun Day's Cool

We provide Christian education for children age 2 through grade 6 during the 9:00 am service through the school year. We offer worship Son day’s Cool at 10:30 am through the school year and at 9:00 am through the summer for Pre-K - grade 5. It is our goal to encourage children to learn about Jesus. We also hope to build relationships within our church family.

Join us on the committee to help us plan and prepare for our activities and special events. Any adult with one hour a week for the children of Grace is welcome to volunteer any Sunday. We are also looking for adults to lead a five-week rotation. Areas of interest include art, music, computers, science, storytelling, cooking and games. Summer leaders are appreciated once a month. Lessons will be provided. Next fall we will need teachers, shepherds and helpers for all grades at 9:00 a.m.

Wings (Confirmation)

Walking in God’s Steps is a confirmation ministry for 7th and 8th graders. This 2 year program includes Bible Study, small groups, and other activities to a teach youth the basics of the Christian faith. Meets from 6:30-8pm on Wednesdays in the Fall and Winter.

A typical evening starts by gathering in the gym for some recreation time or just hanging out with friends. Small group time follows to check in and see how everyone is doing. After that everyone gathers in the sanctuary to sing some modern worship songs and have a lessons learned through scripture. The evening wraps up with more small group time, where questions can be brought up and explored together.

The main part of the program is the small group where kids learn how to be in community and form relationships with each other. Through them they deepen faith and learn what it means to be a Christian. The most recent group of confirmands has enjoyed their small group experience so much they have become the start for a new youth group meeting on Wednesday evening.

Junior High Youth

Our ministry engages in at least one activity per month. We encourage our 80-100 youth to attend an age appropriate event, service project, or to participate in a fundraiser earning money for their camp experience. It is our goal to provide opportunities for fun and fellowship for these youth. We also hope to build relationships within our church family. We are looking for adults who enjoy spending times with our Junior High Youth. Sign up to spend a day at Lutherdale.

Through fun and fellowship we hope to maintain a strong Junior High youth group at Grace Lutheran Church. The youth are encouraged to participate in these events, service projects, and fundraisers and engage in fellowship. Their relationship with other Christian youth and adults will become important and life-enhancing.

Fundraisers

We do two fundraisers to help youth earn money for camp. In January we have a Super Bowl Sub sale and on Palm Sunday we host a brunch for the congregation.
